Day 3 of 7 of our Get Healthier Campaign

Lunch- Veggie soup and a cheeky banana nut snack

It's been one of those days today, running between clients and meetings leaving us with not that much free time to spend in the kitchen. We still need a good hearty meal to keep us going so luckily we stuck some of the veggie soup from Day 1 in the freezer ready for reheating today. It came out a little later than we had hoped due to client meetings so lunch was only served at 2PM. We did add an extra slice of rice and sunflower seed toast on the side this time though.

In case you were wondering how we survived until then? We always have some fruit or nuts on hand for a quick snack but today we combined the two and had a banana covered in almond butter and sesame seeds between meetings. It certainly did the trick.

Why it's good for you:

Almond butter is a  good source of protein and an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, the heart-healthy type that helps to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Almond butter is an excellent sources of three important minerals that lower blood pressure – calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Together they help reduce the resistance in blood vessels and keep your blood pressure under control. Finally, almonds and almond butter are rich in vitamin E which helps protect against oxidative stress.

We would love to hear your feedback so let us know if you try this what you think in the comments below.
